As artificial intelligence (AI) and chatbots become increasingly prevalent, it was only a matter of time before Google decided to get in on the action. The search giant has been hard at work on its own chatbot, reportedly codenamed “Bisto”, and it looks like it could be ready to take on its main competitor, ChatGPT.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Google is planning to announce its chatbot at an event next week. The chatbot is said to be integrated with the company’s messaging app, Hangouts, and will be able to understand natural language queries. It will also reportedly be able to handle tasks such as booking appointments and sending reminders.

If true, this would be a major development in the AI chatbot space. Google has been lagging behind its rivals in this area, and it would be a significant coup for the company to be able to take on ChatGPT with its own offering.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether “Bisto” will be able to live up to the hype. ChatGPT has been praised for its natural language understanding and its ability to handle complex tasks. “Bisto” will need to be able to match or exceed these things if it is to be successful.

One thing is for sure, though: the competition in the AI chatbot space is heating up. And that can only be a good thing for users, who will benefit from the improved products that result.
