Apple May Still Be Planning to Reintroduce 12
There has been much ado about the potential reintroduction of the 12-inch MacBook, and with good reason. The rumors have been swirling for months, and the possibility of Apple finally caving and giving the people what they want is very real.
However, as much as we all would love to see the return of the 12-inch MacBook, we have to remember that it wouldn’t really be a MacBook Air. It would be a different animal entirely.
The 12-inch MacBook was always meant to be a more portable version of the MacBook Pro. It had a smaller footprint, and was lighter and easier to carry around. The MacBook Air, on the other hand, is a true notebook.
It’s designed for people who need the portability of a laptop, but don’t want to sacrifice the power and performance of a desktop. The 15-inch MacBook Air would be too big and too heavy to be a truly portable device.
So, while we all wait with baited breath for the return of the 12-inch MacBook, let’s not forget that it would be a completely different beast than the MacBook Air.
