As we all know, security is important. Whether it’s keeping our devices and data safe, or protecting our physical safety, we need to be vigilant. A security key is a great way to add an extra layer of protection to your devices and online accounts. In this article, we’ll show you how to use a security key with your iPhone or iPad, and why you should.

A security key is a physical device that allows you to authenticate your identity electronically. When you plug it into your device, it sends a signal that says “I am who I say I am.” This is a much more secure way to login than using a password alone.

There are a few different types of security keys, but the most common is the Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) key. These keys work with a wide variety of devices and services, including Google, Facebook, and Dropbox.

To use a security key with your iPhone or iPad, you’ll need an iPhone 6 or later with iOS 11 or later, or an iPad Pro with Face ID. You’ll also need an Apple ID that uses two-factor authentication.

If you’re not sure how to set up two-factor authentication, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Check out our article on how to set up two-factor authentication for your Apple ID.

Once you’ve got two-factor authentication set up, you’re ready to add a security key to your account. To do this, open the Settings app and tap “Accounts & Passwords.” Tap “Add a Security Key,” then follow the instructions on the screen.

You’ll be asked to plug in your security key and enter your PIN. Once you’ve done that, you’ll see a confirmation message letting you know that the key has been added to your account.

Now, whenever you login to your account, you’ll be prompted to enter your PIN and plug in your security key. This may seem like a hassle, but it’s a small price to pay for the added security.

We live in a world where cyber threats are becoming more and more common. By adding a security key to your devices and accounts, you can sleep soundly knowing that your data is well-protected.
