Steam can now transfer games over your local network

Valve has pushed out a new beta update for Steam that includes a much requested feature – the ability to transfer games between PCs over a local network. This is a great addition for those who have multiple computers in their home and want to be able to move their games between them without having to go through the process of downloading and installing them again.
To use this feature, you first need to opt into the Steam Beta Client. Once you’ve done that, you’ll see a new “Local Network Transfer” option in the Settings menu. From there, you can choose which games you want to make available for transfer and then specify which computer you want to transfer them to.
Once you’ve done that, you can simply go to the other computer and log into Steam. You’ll see a list of games that are available for transfer in the “Library” section. Just click on the one you want to install and it will begin downloading.
This is a great addition for those who have multiple computers in their home and want to be able to move their games between them without having to go through the process of downloading and installing them again. It’s also a useful feature for those who want to play their games on multiple computers but don’t want to have to keep track of multiple installs.
