Apple is reportedly preparing to release a lineup of iPhone 15 models in 2023 that could feature more power-efficient OLED displays. According to a new report from The Elec, the OLED panels will be produced by LG Display and will feature a new “ultra-low temperature polycrystalline oxide” (UTPO) material that is said to improve efficiency.

The UTPO material is said to be more heat resistant than the current Low Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide (LTPO) material used in the OLED panels of the iPhone 12 lineup. As a result, the UTPO-based OLED panels are expected to be more power efficient.

The report also claims that LG Display has started mass production of the UTPO-based OLED panels, and that the panels will be used in ‌iPhone 15‌ models that are set to be released in 2023.

If the report is accurate, it would mean that Apple is planning to release a lineup of ‌iPhone 15‌ models with more power-efficient OLED displays in 2023. This would be a significant upgrade from the current ‌iPhone 12‌ lineup, which features OLED panels that are not as power efficient.
