Meta reportedly plans to launch its first true AR glasses in 2027

Meta, the augmented reality startup that was recently acquired by Facebook, is reportedly planning to launch its first pair of true AR glasses in 2027.
This news comes from a report by Engadget, which cites a “source familiar with the company’s plans” as its source.
Meta has been working on AR glasses for some time now, and it has already released a prototype called the Meta 2. However, the Meta 2 is not a true AR device, as it does not have a built-in display.
The company is said to be planning to launch its first true AR glasses in 2027, which is also the year that Facebook has reportedly set for the launch of its own AR glasses.
Interestingly, 2027 is also the year that Meta is said to be planning to launch a smartwatch with a neural interface. This smartwatch would be able to be controlled by thoughts, and it would also be able to read your mind.
This is all very exciting news, and it will be interesting to see how Meta’s plans unfold over the next few years.
