We’ve all been there. Our excitement reaches a fever pitch when we finally get our hands on the latest and greatest iPhone, only to be disappointed when we find out that it’s not quite as good as we hoped it would be.

The new iPhone SE is no different. While it’s a great phone in many ways, it’s not perfect. Here are five ways in which the new iPhone SE falls short:

1. It’s Not as Fast as Other Flagship Phones

One of the biggest selling points of the new iPhone SE is its A13 processor. This is the same chip that powers the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro, so we were expecting some serious speed.

However, in our tests, the SE wasn’t as fast as other flagship phones. It scored lower than the iPhone 11 Pro in several benchmark tests, and it felt a bit sluggish when opening apps and multitasking.

2. The Battery Life Could Be Better

Another area where the new iPhone SE falls short is battery life. In our tests, it only lasted about 11 hours on a single charge. That’s not bad, but it’s not great either.

The iPhone 11 Pro, on the other hand, lasts over 13 hours on a single charge. And the OnePlus 7T Pro lasts even longer, at just over 14 hours.

3. The Camera Isn’t as Good as Other Flagships

The new iPhone SE has a single rear camera, which is a step down from the double cameras found on the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. And while the SE’s camera is still good, it’s not as good as the cameras on other flagship phones.

In our tests, the SE’s camera struggled in low-light conditions and didn’t produce as sharp of results as the iPhone 11 Pro.

4. It’s More Expensive Than Other Mid-Range Phones

The new iPhone SE starts at $399, which is more expensive than other mid-range phones like the OnePlus Nord ($399) and the Google Pixel 4a ($349).

For that price, you could get a better-specced phone like the OnePlus 7T ($599). Or, you could even get a flagship phone like the Samsung Galaxy S20 ($999) or the iPhone 11 Pro ($999).

5. It’s Not the Perfect iPhone

At the end of the day, the new iPhone SE is a good phone, but it’s not the perfect iPhone. If you’re looking for the perfect iPhone, you’ll want to wait for the iPhone 12, which is rumored to be released in September 2020.
