Xiaomi may be preparing a new Wear OS 3 smartwatch
Today we take a look at the latest rumours surrounding Xiaomi and a potential new smartwatch running Wear OS 3.0.
It seems that the Chinese tech giant is preparing to release a new smartwatch, one that could very well be running the latest iteration of Google’s Wear OS operating system.
This is an interesting development for a number of reasons.
First and foremost, Xiaomi is a company that has generally shied away from releasing products in the West.
While the company has a strong presence in Asia, it has yet to make a significant impact in markets like the United States and Europe.
If Xiaomi were to release a new smartwatch running Wear OS 3.0, it would be a major coup for Google.
It would also be a sign that Xiaomi is serious about expanding its reach beyond its core markets.
Of course, whether or not Xiaomi actually releases a new smartwatch running Wear OS 3.0 remains to be seen.
The company has been tight-lipped about its plans for the wearables market.
And given the relatively small size of the Wear OS market, it’s possible that Xiaomi has no plans to release a new smartwatch at all.
Only time will tell.
