Instacart Joins ChatGPT Frenzy, Adding Chatbot To Grocery Shopping App

OpenAI, the artificial intelligence research lab, has unveiled two new artificial intelligence models that it says will allow developers to build smarter chatbots.
The first model, dubbed “ChatGPT,” is a open-source machine learning model that has been designed to read and respond to text-based conversations. The second model, “Whisper,” is a smaller, more efficient version of ChatGPT that has been specifically designed for private one-on-one conversations.
Both models are available now on OpenAI’s website.
ChatGPT is the result of a partnership between OpenAI and Google Brain, and is based on the original GPT-2 model that was released last year.
“Our goal is to enable developers to build chatbots that can carry on a convincing conversation by providing a set of pretrained models that can be finetuned on specific tasks or domains,” said Maya Han, research scientist at OpenAI, in a blog post.
The ChatGPT model is trained on a large dataset of public dialogue, and is able to generate responses that are relevant to the context of a conversation.
Whisper, on the other hand, is a smaller, more efficient model that is designed for private one-on-one conversations.
“The model is trained on a dataset of private one-on-one conversations, and is able to generate responses that are relevant to the context of a conversation,” said Han.
Both models are available now on OpenAI’s website.
