This Is What The Pokémon Bank 3DS Shut Down Update Looks Like

As of March 31st, 2021, the Pokémon Bank application for Nintendo 3DS will be officially shut down. This service has been a staple for Pokémon fans since it was first introduced in 2013, as it allows for easy storage and transfer of Pokémon between generations.

With the Pokémon Bank shutting down, many fans are wondering what this means for their Pokémon collections. Thankfully, we have some answers.

First and foremost, any and all Pokémon that are currently stored in Pokémon Bank will be accessible until the shutdown on March 31st. This means that you have plenty of time to transfer your Pokémon to other services, such as Pokémon Home.

Furthermore, Pokémon Home will continue to support Pokémon from Pokémon Bank until the shutdown date. This means that you can still transfer your Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home, even after the shutdown.

However, it is important to note that Pokémon Home will only support Pokémon from Pokémon Bank until June 30th, 2021. After that date, Pokémon Home will no longer be able to receive Pokémon from Pokémon Bank.

So, if you want to transfer your Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home, you need to do so before June 30th, 2021.

In addition, the Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Bank will become a free-to-use service on March 28th, 2023. This means that, even after the shutdown, you will still be able to access your Pokémon Bank account and transfer Pokémon to Pokémon Home.

However, it is important to note that Pokémon Bank will only be free to use for a limited time. Once the free-to-use period expires, Pokémon Bank will become a paid service once again.

The free-to-use period will last for two years, after which Pokémon Bank will become a paid service once again.

All things considered, the Pokémon Bank shutdown is not as bad as it could have been. Yes, the service is shutting down, but you still have plenty of time to transfer your Pokémon to other services. Plus, Pokémon Bank will become a free-to-use service again in 2023.

So, if you’re a Pokémon fan, there’s no need to panic. Just be sure to transfer your Pokémon to Pokémon Home before June 30th, 2021, and you’ll be all set.
