When it comes to first-party accessories, reMarkable is playing things pretty safe with the new Type Folio Keyboard Case. It’s a well-built, minimalist folio case that provides multi-angle viewing and full body protection for the company’s excellent e-paper tablet. And while the detachable Bluetooth keyboard is far from perfect, it’s a solid addition that helps boost the productivity potential of this already great device.

The Type Folio Keyboard Case is made from a combination of smooth polyurethane and soft microfiber, and it closes securely with a hidden magnet. It’s available in black or navy, and it looks and feels great. The case adds very little bulk to the tablet, and it has a cutout for the rear camera.

The keyboard is also made from polyurethane, and it attaches to the case via a strong magnet. It’s not backlit, so you’ll need to find a well-lit place to use it. And while the key travel is decent, the keys are on the small side and they’re not well spaced, so it takes some getting used to.

In terms of connectivity, the keyboard uses Bluetooth 4.0 to pair with the tablet. It supports Windows 10 and Android 6.0 or higher. And while it doesn’t have a dedicated battery, it does draw power from the tablet’s battery when in use.

The Type Folio Keyboard Case is a welcome addition to the reMarkable ecosystem. It’s well-built, it’s attractively designed, and it’s reasonably priced at $119. But more importantly, it finally gives reMarkable users a way to boost the productivity potential of their device.
