When Bethesda and Tango Gameworks announced Ghostwire: Tokyo back in 2019, the game looked like a fascinating mix of action-adventure and horror elements, with a unique setting to boot. Fast-forward to 2021, and the game is finally releasing on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One next month, with a Game Pass release date to boot.

For the uninitiated, Ghostwire: Tokyo is set in a near-future version of the city where, following a series of paranormal events, most of the population has vanished without a trace. As the player, you take on the role of one of the few remaining survivors, tasked with uncovering the truth behind the disappearances and taking down the evil forces responsible.

While the game has been available on PlayStation 5 since October 2020, the Xbox version has been delayed until April 2021. However, it looks like the wait will be worth it, as the game is coming with a brand new “Spider’s Thread” update. This update adds a new game mode to the mix, as well as a new area to explore and some other various improvements.

The Xbox version of Ghostwire: Tokyo will also be the first to receive the game’s 2023 update. This update, which is currently in development, will add a whole host of new content to the game, including a new story arc and game mode.

If you’re a fan of action-adventure or horror games, or if you’re just looking for something a little different, Ghostwire: Tokyo is definitely worth checking out. The game releases on April 27th, and will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and via Xbox Game Pass.
