a green square with a white knot on it

Just when we thought we had Google all figured out, along comes ChatGPT to upend everything we know about search. Is this new chatbot closer to a human librarian than the internet behemoth?

It’s an interesting question, and one that has been the subject of much debate since ChatGPT’s inception. on one hand, the bot has the ability to hold “conversations” with users, something that Google has never been able to do. On the other hand, ChatGPT relies heavily on artificial intelligence, which some believe gives it an advantage over its human counterparts.

There is no doubt that ChatGPT is an impressive piece of technology. Its ability to understand natural language is impressive, and its interface is extremely user-friendly. However, there are still some areas where it falls short of human librarians.

For example, ChatGPT has difficulty understanding idiomatic expressions and colloquialisms. This can lead to frustrating conversations, especially for users who are not familiar with the bot’s capabilities. Additionally, ChatGPT is not yet able to handle follow-up questions or queries that are not directly related to the initial question.

So, is ChatGPT closer to a human librarian than it is to Google? It’s hard to say for sure. What is certain is that the bot is an impressive piece of technology that is still evolving. Only time will tell if it will be able to replace human librarians altogether.
