Microsoft already developing next Xbox

On March 18, Microsoft announced that it was already developing the next Xbox, codenamed “Scarlett.” The news came as a surprise to many, as the current Xbox One is only six years old. However, Microsoft has been clear that it is committed to making Scarlett the “most powerful console ever.”
Microsoft has already begun to make moves that indicate its intent to make Scarlett the center of its gaming strategy. The company acquired several game studios in the past year, including Ninja Theory and Obsidian Entertainment. It also purchased the rights to the “Gears of War” franchise from Epic Games.
With Microsoft’s experience in developing gaming consoles, it is no surprise that the company is confident in its ability to deliver on its promises for Scarlett. The real question is whether or not gamers will be willing to buy into Microsoft’s vision for the next generation of gaming.
