Sega’s latest release is a departure from the company’s traditional output, and has instead chosen to focus on a more adult audience with The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. The game, which is available now on Steam, is a free-to-play title that tasks players with investigating the murder of the iconic blue hedgehog.
The game is set up as a visual novel, with players taking on the role of a detective who must piece together the events that led up to Sonic’s untimely demise. interrogating suspects and gathering evidence as they go.
The title is clearly meant as a spoof, and it’s already garnered a fair amount of attention online. But while the concept is certainly humorous, the execution leaves something to be desired.
